Hi meascalon,
assuming you're using the Invoice template:
- Add a field Tax Rate to the Article table
- Add another field Tax Rate to the Invoice Items table
- Edit the field options of Invoice Item's Article, set Trigger after update to

Description := Article.Description;
'Unit Price' := Article.Price;
'Tax Rate' := Article.'Tax Rate'

- Create a formula field VAT for Invoice Items with formula

round(Qty * 'Unit Price' * 'Tax Rate', 2)

- Create a formula field Total VAT for Invoices with formula

sum('Invoice Items'.VAT)

Hope that helps!

I think I did everything that I was supposed to do. I now have a Tax Rate and VAT field in the Invoice Item. But I can't seem to enter information into the Tax Rate field that remains there and impacts the VAT. What should I do?

thank you Frank! I realise that I used the wrong field type for the Tax Rate. Instead of yes/no, I used number.

I would like to know how can I print a report with more than one entry of my table. I can only print one entry at a time. How can I group them in one report?

Hello Sibrecho,
the print layout can only be used for single entries.
But we have a feature on the change request list to print multiple entries at once. But we cannot say exactly when we implement it.

Does Ninox contain any lookup functionality à la Microsoft (MS) Access VBA's DLOOKUP (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/DLookup-Function-8896cb03-e31f-45d1-86db-bed10dca5937?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US&fromAR=1) or MS Excel's Lookup functions (e.g., https://support.office.com/en-us/article/LOOKUP-function-446d94af-663b-451d-8251-369d5e3864cb)? If not, might you consider adding it?

Hi MikhailV,
yes, you can use "select" to look up values from unrelated tables. E.g.

first(select 'Tax Rates' where State = "CA").Rate

What formula do I use to display a field if it contains text? I have set up the records that I want to contain a URL but I would wish all other records to not have this field at all by using the:

Display field only , if:

Option. I have in the past build some complex Filemaker databases using various "if" or "logic" formulas but I am stuck on this matter.
