Is it possible to convert a table to a sub-table?

After creating a table with a lot of fields and populating the same with records, I realized it would make more sense to have this as a sub-table. I know I can export the data, the import it into a new sub-table, but that would require recreating the table and all of its fields first. So is there a way to automatically recreate the table itself as a sub-table?
